Accessibility Statement

We are committed to making halalinvesthub.com accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. This statement describes our current conformance level, the measures we have taken, and how to report barriers.

01

Our Commitment

Halal Investment Hub is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities, including those who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification software, and voice input tools.

Our target conformance level is WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We continuously evaluate and improve the platform as it evolves. Accessibility is a first-class design requirement, not an afterthought.

02

Applicable Standards & Legislation

This Platform is designed to conform with the following accessibility standards and legislative requirements:

WCAG 2.1 Level AAAODA (Ontario)ADA Title III (US)Section 508 (US Federal)European Accessibility Act (EAA)UK Equality Act 2010

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1)

WCAG 2.1 is the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility, organized around four principles — content must be Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR). We target Level AA compliance across all four principles.

Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)

Under the AODA Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR), organizations providing goods or services in Ontario must make their web content accessible. We comply with the Web Accessibility requirements under O. Reg. 191/11, referencing WCAG 2.0 Level AA as a baseline (we exceed this by targeting WCAG 2.1 AA).

Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) — Title III

Courts in the United States have interpreted Title III of the ADA to apply to websites open to the public. We aim to meet or exceed the WCAG 2.1 AA standard that courts and the Department of Justice have referenced as the appropriate benchmark.

European Accessibility Act (EAA)

The EAA (Directive 2019/882/EU), in force from June 2025 across EU Member States, requires digital services to meet EN 301 549, which incorporates WCAG 2.1 Level AA. As we serve EU/EEA users, we design to meet this requirement.

03

Technical Measures

The following table summarizes the accessibility measures currently implemented and any known limitations.

Semantic HTML structure Implemented

Pages use proper heading hierarchy (h1–h3), landmark elements (nav, main, footer), and lists where appropriate.

Keyboard navigability Implemented

All interactive elements — buttons, links, form fields, modals — are reachable and operable via keyboard. Focus order follows the visual reading order.

Focus indicators Implemented

Visible focus rings are preserved. We do not suppress the browser's default focus outline without providing an equivalent custom indicator.

Colour contrast Implemented

Text elements meet WCAG 2.1 minimum contrast ratios: body text (#C4D4DE on #07101D, ≈ 7.2:1) and muted text (#8BAFC4 on #07101D, ≈ 4.8:1) both exceed the Level AA threshold of 4.5:1.

Text scaling Implemented

The layout accommodates browser-level text scaling up to 200% without loss of content or functionality. Relative units (rem, em) are used throughout.

Reduced motion Implemented

Scroll-reveal animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query — users who have enabled reduced motion in their OS settings will see no animated transitions.

Form field labels Implemented

All waitlist form inputs have programmatically associated labels. Required fields are identified both visually and via aria-required attributes.

ARIA roles and attributes Implemented

Modals use role='dialog' with aria-modal='true' and focus trap behaviour. Status messages use aria-live regions to announce submissions to screen reader users.

Language declaration Implemented

The HTML lang attribute is set to 'en' on all pages, enabling screen readers to use the correct speech synthesizer language profile.

SVG chart accessibility In progress

The Investment Simulator contains SVG line charts. While each chart includes an aria-label attribute, detailed data tables as an equivalent alternative are planned for the next release.

Third-party embedded content In progress

If we integrate third-party widgets in future (e.g., video embeds or maps), we will assess and document their conformance status at that time.

04

Assistive Technology Compatibility

The Platform is designed for compatibility with the following assistive technologies:

  • Screen readers: NVDA (Windows), JAWS (Windows), VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), TalkBack (Android)
  • Keyboard-only navigation: Full functionality accessible without a mouse
  • Browser zoom: Content reflows correctly at 200% zoom in major browsers
  • High-contrast modes: Windows High Contrast mode and macOS Increase Contrast are supported
  • Voice control: Designed to work with Dragon NaturallySpeaking and iOS Voice Control

Testing has been conducted using keyboard-only navigation and automated accessibility auditing tools. We continue to expand manual testing coverage with actual assistive technologies as the platform evolves.

05

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, the following limitations currently exist. We are actively working to resolve them:

  • Investment Simulator charts: SVG charts include aria-label attributes but do not yet expose a full data table alternative. A text-based data summary will be added in a future release.
  • Scroll-reveal animations: The prefers-reduced-motion media query is implemented. However, users who have not set this OS-level preference will see motion effects that cannot be toggled within the page. An in-page motion preference toggle is planned.
  • PDF documents: Should we publish PDF reports or documents in future, these will be assessed for accessibility at that time.

06

Reporting Accessibility Barriers

We actively welcome feedback on accessibility barriers. If you encounter a feature that is inaccessible to you, we want to know so we can fix it — or provide an accessible alternative in the interim.

When contacting us, please include:

  • A description of the barrier or issue
  • The page URL where you encountered it
  • The assistive technology and browser you were using (if applicable)

Review Schedule

This Accessibility Statement is reviewed and updated whenever significant changes are made to the Platform, and no less frequently than every 12 months.

We plan to conduct a full WCAG 2.1 AA audit by an independent third-party auditor prior to the Platform’s transition from market validation to a live regulated product. The audit report and remediation plan will be published here.
